How Supporting ACLU Helps Us

I've had a website and a blog before but have long since canceled and deleted it. But, after a long hiatus, I've decided to jump back in and start speaking up again. This will be my first official post. I'm honestly ready for a nap so I'm going to keep it short and to the point.

The new POTUS D. tRUMP has issued a travel ban against Muslim majority countries. Rightly named the Muslim Ban. It puts refugee families through an extreme vetting process on top of another extensive vetting process already in place. The ACLU has quickly responded to that executive order by taking tRUMP to court.

A round of applause for the ACLU please!

For nearly 100 years, the American Civil Liberties Union has been our nation’s guardian of liberty. Working in courts and legislatures of our many communities, they defend and preserve our individual rights and liberties that the laws and the Constitution of the United States guarantee everyone in this country. Whether it’s achieving full equality for LGBT people, establishing new privacy protections for our digital age of widespread government surveillance, ending mass incarceration, or preserving the right to vote or the right to have an abortion, the ACLU takes up the toughest civil liberties cases and issues to defend ALL people from government abuse and overreach. The ACLU is a nationwide organization that fights tirelessly in all 50 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico to ensure that everyone’s rights are safeguarded.

Although I am poor, (I have far less money than you'd believe), I've chosen to make a donation to help the ACLU help our country. Why? Because I have faith in humanity and if there's anything I can do, no matter how big or small, I will do it. The people of our country must come together to stand up and fight for what is right.

Donate to help the American Civil Liberties Union to:

Defend free speech and the right to protest.

Fight relentless attacks on reproductive freedom.

Reform our racially-biased criminal justice system.

If you're being unjustly discriminated against. Ask for help from the ACLU.

“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
